Food writer and cookbook author

Holly Herrick is an awarded cookbook author and food writer who draws inspiration from the beauty and seasonal, local produce and delicious food and restaurants of her home town, Charleston, SC. Holly is the author of  five cookbooks, including Southern Farmers Market (Gibbs Smith, June, 2009) and The Charleston Chef’s Table Cookbook – Extraordinary Recipes from the Heart of The Old South (Three Forks Press, December, 2009) In 2011, Holly released two new books, Tart Love – Sassy, Savory, and Sweet (Gibbs Smith, October, 2011) and Food Lovers’ Charleston & Savannah – A guide to the Best Restaurants, Markets and Local Culinary Offerings (Globe Pequot Press, December, 2011).  Holly’s latest book, The French Cook: Sauces (Gibbs Smith) in March, 2013, and the rest of her titles are currently available online at amazon.com and at bookstores near you. As a decade-long restaurant critic in the area, Holly’s something of a specialist on the subject of dining in Charleston and is embarking on a study of Savannah’s food scene for her next two book projects.
